Welcome To Oil Blending
By GSS Ops Team
The program Oil Blending covers calculations in US customary and Metric units.
You can select from the drop-down list the way of calculations: in US customary units or in metric units:
In calculations in Metric units
you can select from the drop-down list which table to use for calculation of VCF (CTPL) by selecting either
", or Table 54B
", or Table 54D
In calculations in US customary units
you can select from the drop-down list which table to use for calculation of VCF (CTPL) by selecting
either Table 6A
", or Table 6B
", or Table 6D
In addition to the quality parameters of the blend you can calculate the price of the blend, if you fill in the price of
each componenet either in US dollars per US barrel or per Metric ton in air as shown on the above pictures.
In both options of calculations ("Metric units"
or "US customary units"
), you can calculate the following quality parameters of the oil blend.
Some parameters may have several different methods of calculations and you can select the method to be used from the drop-down list:
You can select an option of taking into account olefin and aromatics content while calculating Octane numbers (RON or MON):
You can also calculate the the density of the blend of the heavier component with a lighter diluent. The big difference in densities of the heavier component
and of the diluent usually result in shrinkage which is taken into account in calculations. Such calculations allow up to 6 iterations of calculations:
For your convenience in Oil Blending
you can use a built-in interpolation calculator of volumes allowing to take into account simultaneously
product level (ullage or innage) and the trim or list correction:
As you can see, this program has a lot of useful features designed to automate and facilitates the calculation of quality parameters of the blend and its price.
We only showed some of useful capabilities available in our oil blending program.
There is also a converter of temperatures and viscosities, like the calculation of the viscosity at the different temperature knowing viscosities at 2 different temperatures
or knowing only one viscosity at a certain temperature by means of a beta-factor either for a light or a dark product.
